All first time travellers to Syria are required to come personally for the visa. Travel Agents and Company Representatives are not allowed to deposit visa application.

| Purpose of Travel / Accommodation | *A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associates in Syria attested by the Syrian Chamber of Commerce must also be enclosed. A copy should also be faxed directly to the Embassy |
| * A profile of the Company indicating Business with Syria and copies of invoices etc | |
| * A Letter of Recommendation from the Chamber of Commerce (in original) | |
| * A valid Polio (OPV) Certificate is required. The dose of OPV should be taken at least four weeks prior to the departure from India | |
| * The Passenger must commit to carry at least USD 500 in cash. | |
| * Confirmed onward/ return air ticket | |

| * The Shipping Agent in Syria should send a fax message to the Embassy stating the particulars of the Seamen and the date and port of joining the Ship. | |
